HEADLINE
Reunion
2012
Today's Headline
Classic rock band Headline reunited to play a homecoming at Chillers Brew Pub in Moose Jaw, SK, on Friday, 24 August 2012—34 years to the day of the band’s last performance in this Prairie town. More than 200 people attended this sold-out event.
Headline last performed in Moose Jaw on Thursday, 24 August 1978 at the now defunct Moose Jaw Union Centre, three days before the band headed to Winnipeg, MB, on its inaugural club tour. Six months later, the band broke up when its lead singer, Elton Hull, quit. Headline reunited with Keith Dyck as its lead singer in Victoria in 2006, playing a gig for the Harley Owners Group of Vancouver Island and whetting appetites for a return to the band’s hometown.
The band concluded its 2012 Hot August Nights tour by playing to a packed house at McNally’s Tavern in Regina on 25 August. True to its 1970s tag line, “A taste of the Stones,” Headline devoted one of its sets each night to songs by the Rolling Stones.
